Joanna
Wiszniewicz is a Polish language writer and a researcher at the
Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, Poland. Her writing is devoted
to Polish Jews, with a special stress on their identity. Her first book,
"From Poland to Israel" was devoted to the identity of the
representatives of the first post-war generation of Polish Jews who after
anti-Semitic campaign of March '68 emigrated to Israel. Her second book
"Yet I Sometimes Have Dreams. A Story of a Certain Loneliness Told
to Joanna Wiszniewicz" received honorable mention at the Literary
Competition of Culture Foundation in Poland. This book is a subtle auto-analysis
provided by the assimilated and secular Polish Jew who grew up at a pre-war
Jewish Family in Warsaw, matured in Warsaw Ghetto and in some Nazis Camps
and who after the WWII emigrated to the United States.
